Our Story

Where precision engineering meets real-world experience

2018

The Beginning

Started this whole thing in a small bay over on East Hastings. Just me, a laptop full of diagnostic software I'd been tinkering with for years, and way too much coffee. Worked at dealerships for over a decade before that - learned everything they taught me, then learned what they didn't wanna deal with. Complex electrical gremlins, weird performance issues, those cars that stumped everyone else... that's what got me hooked.

2020

Growing Pains

Word spread faster than I expected. Folks started showing up with stuff other shops couldn't figure out or didn't wanna touch. Had to bring on two techs - guys I knew from my dealership days who were tired of just turning wrenches without actually solving problems. Moved into the Industrial Avenue spot, finally had room to breathe and set up proper diagnostic equipment.

2022

Level Up

Electric vehicles started rolling in more and more. Couldn't ignore it - spent six months getting certified on EV systems, hybrid powertrains, all that high-voltage stuff. It's honestly wild how different these systems are, but the diagnostic approach? Same logic, just different tools. Also finally got our hands on a proper dynamometer for tuning work. Game changer.

2025

Today

We're seven people now, still in the same spot on Industrial. Every tech here actually gives a damn about what they're doing - that's non-negotiable. We've got the diagnostic gear to tackle pretty much anything modern vehicles throw at us, and yeah, we still take those head-scratcher jobs other places give up on. That's still the fun part.

Meet the Founder

Marcus Chen

Lead Diagnostic Technician & Owner

Been turning wrenches since I was 16, got my Red Seal at 23, and spent the next twelve years at various dealerships around Vancouver. Loved the technical work, hated the "replace don't repair" mentality and the constant upselling pressure.

Started Quantarion Core because I wanted to build a shop that actually fixes things properly. We use real diagnostics, we explain what's actually wrong in plain English, and we don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Pretty simple philosophy, really.

The Team

Folks who actually know what they're doing

Team Member

Seven years at the dealership before jumping ship to join us. If it's got a computer module, Jake can talk to it. Specializes in electrical diagnostics and those weird intermittent issues that drive everyone nuts.

Jake Morrison

Senior Diagnostic Tech

Team Member

Came from the hybrid/EV world and knows those systems inside out. Got her high-voltage certification before most shops even thought about it. Handles all our electric vehicle work and hybrid diagnostics.

Sarah Kim

EV/Hybrid Specialist

Team Member

Old-school transmission guy who adapted to modern systems without losing his edge. Fifteen years doing nothing but trans work. If it shifts gears, Tony's rebuilt one. Does all our transmission diagnostics and rebuilds.

Tony Russo

Transmission Specialist

Team Member

Performance tuning and ECU programming is his thing. Came from the racing scene, knows how to make engines happy. Handles all our dyno tuning work and custom calibrations without blowing stuff up.

Dev Patel

Performance Tuner

Team Member

Youngest on the crew but don't let that fool you. Fresh red seal and hungry to learn. Handles a lot of our preventive maintenance work and general repairs while training up on the complex stuff.

Alex Nguyen

Technician

Team Member

Keeps this whole operation running smoothly. Handles scheduling, parts ordering, customer communication - basically everything that isn't wrenching. Used to manage service at a dealership, way happier here.

Why We're Different

Look, there's a lot of shops around Vancouver. Here's what makes us different - no marketing fluff, just facts:

Actual Diagnostics

We've got factory-level scan tools, oscilloscopes, the works. We don't throw parts at problems and hope something sticks. We figure out what's actually wrong first.

Straight Talk

We explain what's broken in normal English, not technical jargon designed to confuse you. And if something can wait, we'll tell you it can wait.

Keep Learning

Cars change fast these days. We actually invest in training and equipment to keep up. Can't fix modern vehicles with old knowledge and outdated tools.

No Pressure

Zero commission on parts or services here. Our techs get paid the same whether they sell you something or not. Takes all the BS out of the equation.

Got a Tricky Problem?

If your car's acting weird and nobody can figure it out, bring it by. That's kinda our thing.
